COLOR - ITS EMOTIONAL CHARACTERISTICS, HISTORY, AND TRENDS

Color is a powerful influence in our lives. We will look at the power and significance of color, it's language, characteristics, trends, symbolism and how color preferences affect each of us. You will be able to then utilize that information to be more expressive in your everyday life, your environment, your creative endeavors as well as becoming become more confident when selecting colors.

Lectures are generally one hour followed by time for questions. Everyone loves exploring color and this is an enjoyable way to provide greater insight as to how to use color to work for you. This lecture is appropriate for art/ artisan organizations as well as general interest groups.

Having trouble deciding which color paint to choose? Which colors you should bring into a room to tie it together and have the sense of it being finished? Does the space reflect what you envisioned? Who you are? Have you painted a room and it didn't turn out the way you expected? Or...do you just play it safe and stick with white even though that's not what you really want?

Without guidance, color can sometimes seem overwhelming or the finished product can be disappointing. Some rooms beg to be peaceful and relaxing, some demand sophistication, while others require a frivolous energy to convey your feelings or its purpose.  If you'd like to have assistance with selecting colors for your home or office but you don't necessarily feel you need, or can afford, the financial investment or complete services of an interior designer, this service can help you.

The Process I will come to your home or office and we will select colors and color schemes that work with the things that you have and love. This is a very casual way of approaching color selection that is personal to your likes and dislikes in your environment. You'll feel comfortable and satisfied that you have achieved your intent. We'll work with items already in your home, examine the features, and we will build a cohesive and pleasing plan for you.

Consultation rates are priced hourly: Consultation is $50 for the first hour and $40 for each following hour billed in half hour segments.  

PAYMENT FOR ON-SITE CONSULTATIONS IS MADE ON THE DAY OF THE VISIT.

Workshops are centered toward art or craft groups who are interested in focusing on the intuitive selection of colors as an added tool for color selection in their work. This is a hands on workshop to expand and strengthen your color choices and vocabulary to more confidently express your intent and ideas.  You will be looking more closely into the emotional characteristics of color and observe how this overlaps with color theory. We'll have some fun with color and words.
